Detailed Trigger Warnings (spoilers!!)

This fictional series draws influence from historical attitudes towards women, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

You will find a deliberate exploration of the cruelties and atrocities these marginalised people faced, including themes of abuse and control, dehumanisation, degradation, psychological manipulation, conversion therapies, the misuse of power within intimate relationships, and dubious consent.

You will also find the following general triggers: violence, injury, death, and body-horror elements.

This is a significant theme of the entire series, and it will come from more than one character.

If you find this subject matter triggering, this series may not be for you, as it is a major and important theme, and will include:

  • Instances of blackmail and coercive control
  • Instances of threatened sexual abuse, attempted sexual abuse, and implied sexual abuse – some of this will concern the main character.
  • Domestic abuse and coercive control between the FMC and her husband (not the MMC) will be a main theme of this entire series.
  • None of the above is from the MMC
  • No on-page, explicit r**e.

The monsters (both creature and mankind) can be especially ruthless and violent in this series.

There is a “body horror” element to the monster bonding, and monsters feed (literally eat) people and other monsters. This can be gruesome and disturbing.

Minor main characters will die.

The relationship between the FMC and MMC is complicated, and they follow a true enemies-to-lovers arc.

There will be instances where explicit verbal consent is in a grey area, for various plot-reliant reasons.

At times, both the MMC and the FMC will be forced into intimate situations (with each other) against their wills.

This is also a major theme of the series. Torture methods are used against LGBTQ+ individuals, including gay and asexual characters.
